Jinbe

Jinbe

Jinbe, also known as “The Paladin of the Seas”, is a male character from the One Piece manga universe. He is a member of the Fishman race, and is a master of Piscesman Karate and Gyojin Jujutsu .

In the past he was a member of the Sun Pirates, serving under Fisher Tiger , and then met members of Whitebeard’s crew, becoming one of Edward Newgate’s allies and one of his sons”.

During this time, Jinbe felt he owed Whitebeard a debt of gratitude for claiming the Island of the Fishmen as his territory , which helped protect the sirens from the pirates who made their way to the island. island to capture and sell them. Moreover, he was very good friends with Portgas D. Ace . They met before Ace met Whitebeard, and fought for three days and three nights, without a break , without rest, before Whitebeard finally arrived to stop the fight. Because of this, he refused to fight in the Marineford War, as it would have caused him to betray both Whitebeard and Ace .

Before disobeying the world government, he was one of the Seven Corsair Captains. He had that title indefinitely, but after the call to Marineford he disobeyed, his title was taken away, his bounty was reinstated and he was jailed at level 6 of Impel Down . This is how he was freed by Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the prisoners. Once in Marineford, he actively fought against the Marines in an attempt to save Ace and help Whitebeard. Once the war was over, Jinbe played a crucial role in pulling Luffy out of the crisis that Ace’s death had plunged him into  .

Jinbe
Two years later, Jinbe helps the Straw Hat Pirates fight Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom . After the arc is over, Luffy orders Jinbe to become a member of his crew, and Jinbe says he will, but only after completing a bit of work in Totto Land. Once Luffy and the others are gone, he confronts Big Mom, but the extent of what happened there is still unknown. Later, he presents himself to Wano Kuni, as the Straw Hat Pirates and the Nine Red Scabbards are engaged in battle against Kurozumi Orochi, Kaido, and the Yonko Pirates , ready to finally be part of the crew, and to help them in their fight ⚔.

Jinbe is a man of great pride and honor. He is known to the world government as a pirate hating pirate, possibly due to the actions of pirates on the island of his fellow humans, the Fishmen, who kidnap fish and sailors to sell them as slaves. However, he has a soft spot for Whitebeard and his crew as he sees them as a sort of pirates in their own right. Because of what Whitebeard has done for his homeland, the Isle of Pisces Men, he understands the damage a war between the world government and Whitebeard would cause . He knows that places like his home, which are protected by the simple fact of being part of Whitebeard’s territory, would be the most affected if Whitebeard lost the war. Furthermore, although he originally hates pirates, he didn’t hesitate to become one to help his Fisher Tiger brothers.
Jinbe vs MihawkDespite his pride, Jinbe seems to put his priorities and interests ahead of his honor, and does not hesitate to withdraw from an unfinished battle (despite shame or open mockery from an opponent) if it is for the good. of all. He also doesn’t seem reluctant to encourage others to do the same for a similar cause, as seen when he argued and successfully convinced Luffy to prioritize Ace’s safety over his safety. ‘to his brother’s revenge against Blackbeard . Jinbe also displayed great humility regarding his personal strength and status, a unique character trait among the Shichibukai.by his willingness to lose even his status for his refusal to fight against the Whitebeard pirates .

Also, unlike his former teammate Arlong, the fact that he’s ready to help a human (Whitebeard) as well as team up with others separates him from the other fish . While Arlong would never have imagined such a thing (even recruiting Nami to his crew was close to slavery), Jinbe shows himself capable of respecting at least some humans and recognizing when he owes a debt to him. one of them. Although he is blessed with great emotional control, he shows empathy and understanding for the pain of others, such as when he was brought to tears when Luffy collapsed after losing. his brother in front of him after waking up from the Battle of Marineford. Jinbe is also able to cry out loud when a loved one is lost, like Ace and Tiger ⚰.

His personality in the past contrasts dramatically with the seemingly docile temperament of the present. In a flashback showing a battle between the Sun Pirates and the Marines, Jinbe showed himself to be excessively brutal towards enemies that even prompted Arlong to ask him to stop . He seems to be a very reasonable person and sometimes seems very passive. While he disagrees with Arlong’s thinking that humans always look down on fish, he noticed that they always seem to be afraid of them. After asking a former human slave named Koala why, she replied that it was because‘they didn’t know much about them. Jinbe said the stranger was scary and recalled Otohime saying fish don’t know anything about humans.

Originally, Jinbe doubted Otohime’s ideals, thinking they meant nothing. He even openly said he didn’t care about his petition. However, after listening to Fisher Tiger’s peace speech ☮, Jinbe took to supporting Otohime and even admitted the problems the Sun Pirates were causing him and joined the Shichibukai to support his cause .

Jinbe shares the same point of view as Vivi on the responsibilities 👁. When Luffy asked Jinbe to join the Straw Hats, Jinbe refused, saying there was still some things to do. Jinbe’s decision also resembles Vivi’s when he also asked Luffy to let her join his crew , if they meet again in the future. According to Neptune , Jinbe tends to take on too much responsibility and should learn not to.

Jinbe’s Character Story

His past

Jinbe grew up as an orphan in the orphanage that became the Fishman District, alongside Arlong, Macro, and Fisher Tiger . He trained at Fishman’s karate dojo from an early age and earned a karate black belt as a child. About sixteen years before the current storyline, Jinbe was a soldier in Neptune’s army. As Otohime preached to his people, Jinbe said his preaching was going nowhere. He was then seen frowning at Arlong’s rude behavior towards the citizens of Fishman Island. As Arlong harassed a new recruit to Neptune’s Army, Jinbe contemptuously ordered him to let him go, to which Arlong bowed dryly. Jinbe and Arlong then each greeted Fisher Tiger equally warmly after returning from an adventure on the island. After Fisher Tiger attacked Mariejois and became an enemy of the world government, Jinbe resigned from the military and joined the Sun Pirates .

A few years later, the Sun Pirates visited an island where a former slave of Mariejois named Koala resided. The islanders had no way of returning the girl to her home country and therefore asked the Sun Pirates to take her. After picking up the young girl, Jinbe showed sympathy upon seeing how traumatized she was . In a battle with the Marines, Jinbe showed his brutality by beating Marines brutally. Jinbe despised them for ignoring slavery and calling their heinous acts a crime. During their journey on the Grand Line, the Sun Pirates clashed with many Marines, including those led by Rear Admiral Kadar .

The Paladin of the SeasAfter the battle, Tiger had a discussion with Jinbe and Arlong telling them not to kill humans; to do otherwise would mean lowering oneself to their level. Tiger went on to say that their ultimate goal was to free the oppressed and not become murderers in cold blood . This did not suit Arlong and he suggested that Tiger scare the humans away using cruelty and extreme brutality. Jinbe hit Arlong in the head to silence him. Later , Tiger spoke to Jinbe on his own and shared his concerns that Otohime might consider himself and Arlong to be just as ruthless, and alluded to the demons from the past lurking in hiding. in his heart.

Jinbe tried to figure out why the young girl was so afraid of them, which she said was simply a matter of not knowing anything about them . As the Sun Pirates’ journey continued, she grew closer to him and the other pirates, and most of them to her . However, when they reached his hometown, the Pirates of the crew were ambushed by marines led by Rear Admiral Strawberry and warned by the villagers, causing Jinbe and the other fishermen to abandon the ship and fly a navy ship.

Unfortunately for Fisher Tiger, he was seriously injured during the battle. After escaping the Marines, Jinbe and the rest of the Sun Pirates surrounded Fisher Tiger’s bed as he confessed his slave past and how, despite his best efforts, he couldn’t help but hate humans and therefore could not accept their blood in his body. Jinbe begged Fisher Tiger to live, but he ended up dying along with Jinbe and the other crew members crying in misery.

Jinbe’s Abilities and Powers

It is said that Jinbe was able to fight Portgas D. Ace on an equal footing, even when Ace had the powers of Logia . They both nearly killed each other in a five-day fight just before Ace was taken by Whitebeard, and in Impel Down, he and Ace shared a cell at level six. He was able to easily hit Gekko Moriah 🦇 (a fellow Shichibukai) a few yards away, almost knocking him out.

Helmsman

Jinbei is a very competent helmsman due to his familiarity with the sea, and he is able to control unfamiliar ships with ease while he has no previous experience, such as a stolen sea vessel, during their escape from the sea. ‘Impel Down , and he’s also able to easily avoid taking damage from cannon fire. He subsequently demonstrated his ability to control the Thousand Sunny on the first try , and carefully maneuver it around the waves and the giant wave created by Big Mom, which enabled him and the Straw Hats accompanying him, to move safely in the wave to avoid sinking .

Physical abilities of a man-fish

JinbeiImmense Strength: As a fishman, Jinbe possesses immense strength. It is the most powerful of the fish that we have seen so far , as evidenced by the fact that it tossed a giant fish with one kick. It also appears to be quite fast, even on dry land, ironically at its large size. He was able to intercept an enraged Luffy (in Gear Second mode) and prevent him from attacking Blackbeard, then Akainu , as the latter prepared to deliver a second fatal blow to Ace in the dying moments of this last.

Immense Pain Resistance: Jinbe has enormous pain tolerance: not only was he one of the few people who could do a “baptism” in boiling water in Impel Down without flinching (which is considered an impressive feat), but he was able to stop a direct punch of Akainu’s magma with his bare hands , unfazed despite his severe burns, and received a direct hit from the latter, which completely pierced his body, and his only reaction was to apologize to Luffy for causing him more pain. Oddly enough, he exclaimed in pain when he was bitten by Luffy, although this was most likely due to the fact that he was prepared for Akainu’s attack, but that

Immense Willpower: Jinbe possesses immense willpower and rare courage that even allows him to resist the powers of Big Mom’s Soru Soru no Mi thanks to his lack of fear for the Yonko .

Jinbe vs Big Mom

Fishmen karate

Jinbe is a karate master, he revealed that he already had a black belt when he was still a child, which he can use to bring down multiple guards at once. His skill is such that his strikes don’t even need to make physical contact with an enemy, as the water particles in the air repel them within seconds of the attack starting . Another example of his strength and level of Karate is that he defeated Minorhinoceros, one of the four Demon Guards, with a single uppercut .

He also demonstrates his ability to manipulate water as if it were a tangible tissue thanks to the Karate of the Fishmen, even when using it to attack from a distance . both to people and to ships . Jinbe later reveals that the Pisces-Men Karate allows him to control all water nearby, including water in a person’s body. Jinbe demonstrated this ability by splashing seawater on Moriah’s zombies while he was on a battlefield covered in solid ice. And with this ability, he is able to hurt Luffy despite being rubber and even Caribou who is a Logia user . He is also able to secrete water from his body like Hody after overdosing on energy steroids.

Thanks to his mastery of Pisces-Men Karate, Jinbe can perform blocking movements that are able to stop attacks as powerful as the thrusts of a Gekko Moriah, also a member of the Shichibukai, reinforced by the shadow. He even managed to stop the punch of Wadatsumi , a giant fish who had also taken an energy steroid and even broken a finger, with a single kick .

It is worth noting that moments before, Wadatsumi had brutally defeated Surume, a huge Kraken well known for his skills in combat. Moments before, he had managed to deflect a superpowered Hody Jones’ water shot with relative ease, with Jinbe even saying that Hody’s mastery of this fighting style himself paled compared to his own. Jinbe is also able to use the Buraikan Hidden Technique of Fishman Karate . With this attack, Jinbe detonates the opponent’s body with water. After Jinbe uses this powerful attack, he sends Wadatsumi into the air, but she is also powerful enough to make the Yonko, Big Mom, fly. while her durability weakens because she hasn’t eaten the wedding cake for 8 hours ⏲.

Marine Life Telepathy: Among fish, Jinbe has shown the unique ability to communicate with fish, even over long distances . Jinbe’s ability to do this is considered remarkable by Crocodile 🏜.

Jinbe and Crocodile
He summoned a large school of whale sharks to the Calm Belt (which was generally too dangerous with the  Sea Kings infesting it) to aid him in a massive attack from Impel Down. He can give specific orders to whale sharks, so that they understand him and obey him.

With the Calm Belt dangerously populated by the Kings of the Seas, Jinbe summoned his fellow whale sharks to help him cross it, as he did when leaving the Amazon Lily 🏝.

Knowledge of Paladin of the Seas opponents

As a former Shichibukai, Jinbei has knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the various characters in the world of One Piece. Jinbei has knowledge of the Magu Magu no Mi of Akainu . Jinbei recognizes that Hody Jones’ Gyojin Karate is at the level of an amateur and nothing to compare to his own mastery of Gyojin Karate, as it relies on false powers (energy steroids) 💊.

Jinbe vs Gekko Moriah

Jinbei also knows the Mochi Mochi no Mi powers of the Sweet Commander Katakuri and the use of any liquid to escape the Mochi’s grip. He is aware of the powers of Oven and his Netsu Netsu no Mi which burn anything touched, making it too dangerous to block his attacks, as he had warned. He knows that Prometheus (the Sun Homie who infused Big Mom’s soul) ☁ is just a compressed flame due to his weakness in the face of water and sees him as a bigmouth fire.

Jinbe and his use of the haki

Jinbei has two Haki, which makes him the first fishman to use the Haki.

Jinbei used the Busoshoku Haki when he fought a tie with Portgas D. Ace . He easily beat Caribou, a powerful Logia user, with a single punch . He hardened his arms to defend himself against the Big Mom Pirates underlings and also defended himself against Big Mom herself during the escape.

Jinbe was also seen using the Kenbonshoku Haki against Big Mom.
